The 30th session of the Commission for the Prevention of Crime and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ)<\/a> will be held online from May 17 to 21.<\/p>\n

ASTRA is organizing one of the accompanying events of the session, which will be held on Tuesday, May 18, from 9:00 to 9:50, with focus on Preventing vulnerability and strengthening policy responses for commercial sexual exploitation of children.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Astra and the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC) will present a regional assessment of commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) in the Western Balkans.<\/p>\n

This study analyzes the vulnerability of children subject to commercial sexual exploitation. Particular attention was put on child sexual exploitation online and the risk of sexual exploitation of children in specific areas, such as in the travel and tourism sector, in marginalized communities and during migration, amongst others. The study also analyses the child protection system and capacity of law enforcement to tackle the problem, as well as the awareness and preparedness of government institutions, civil society and private sector to deal with child sexual exploitation.<\/p>\n
