Niš, May 24, 2019. − A seminar for journalists on the topic of improving the reporting on victims and witnesses of criminal offenses, on the right to support and on victim support services was organized by the OSCE Mission to Serbia on the issue of on the issue of improving reporting on victims and witnesses

The International Day of Missing Children was set up in memory of six-year-old Etan Patz, who disappeared in New York in 1979 on the way to the school bus station. The Director of ASTRA held a lecture at the Legal Clinic for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade. The students were interested in the trends of human trafficking in Serbia, the preventive activities that are being carried out, as well as the situation and rights of

ASTRA, Autonomous Women’s Center and Women in Black, in cooperation with BeFem, launched a campaign to promote the recommendations of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

During the trial, a victim of trafficking in Serbia repeats details of the traumatic experiences that have happened to her, SEVEN times in average. A proactive investigation has multiple advantages: a variety of evidence is being collected, and the prosecutor builds a case that is not based solely on the victim’s testimony.

During the period January to April 2019, within the project “Who Defends Defenders” (WDD), which the Share Foundation conducts in cooperation with Civil Rights Defenders, ASTRA representatives attended group and individual trainings.
