Global convening on trafficking in women & girls in the Context of Global Migration

Bangkok, January 24th-26th, 2019. – The Director of ASTRA attended the Global Convening on Trafficking in Women & Girls in the Context of Global Migration. The conference addressed the challenges in identifying and supporting trafficking victims in the migration process. The conference brought together top experts in the field of combatting trafficking in women, and the participants had the opportunity to exchange opinions and experiences with the members of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), as well as with the UN Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons, especially in women and children. The conference was organized by IWRAW from Malaysia and GAATW from Thailand.
